Chummar A.C. is both a lawyer and an electronics and communication engineer andheads the Corporate Law practice group at Veeksha. He has completed his LL.B. from Jindal Global Law School and his engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He completed his LL.M. from New York University in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Karnataka and is in the process of completing his enrollment with the New York State Bar Council. Chummar began his legal career with Themis Associates in September 2012 in the venture capital practice group.He joined Trilegal in August 2014 with the corporate team. During his tenure at Trilegal and Themis, Chummar was involved in negotiating, structuring and drafting investment agreements and general commercial contracts. He was also involved in mergers, venture capital, private equity and corporate restructuring transactions.
Akshay B. Manjunath
Akshay B. Manjunath is graduated B.A., LL.B. from University Law College, Bangalore and heads the Litigation practice group at the Firm. Akshay began his career with the Chambers of B. K. Manjunath in July 2009. Akshay went on to join Khaitan & Co as an Associate in May 2010 following which he joined Crestlaw Partners as a Senior Associate in May 2011. Akshay's litigation practice covers most areas of civil and corporate dispute resolution including litigation through the court process and arbitration. Akshay has also advised on matters relating to mergers, demergers and winding up of companies through the courts.
Vivek Yavagal is both a lawyer and an electronics and communication engineer, having completed his LL.B. from Jindal Global Law School and his engineering from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore,and heads the Litigation and Intellectual Property practice group at the Firm. Vivek started his legal career with Crestlaw Partners in May 2012 in the litigation group. He co-founded Veeksha Law Partners with Akshay Manjunath (B.A., LL.B.) and A.C.Chummar (B.Tech., LL.M.) in November 2015. Vivek has represented numerous clients in the technology, corporate, real estate and employment sectors before various forums across the country in both litigation as well as arbitration.
Vijay V. Paul
Vijay Varghese Paul is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore and heads the Litigation (Cochin) practice group at Veeksha. Vijay started his career in 2014 with the Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisition team of Trilegal, Bangalore. While at Trilegal, Vijay has advised Flipkart in its investment into various startups and was also part of the team that structured the purchase of shares in the National Stock Exchange, by New Quest Partners, Singapore. Vijay has also advised various startups on its compliance requirements when receiving money from venture capital and private equity firms. Vijay was awarded the Kairos Global Fellowship for young entrepreneurs in 2011. As part of the fellowship, Vijay was tasked with creating innovative legal tools for startups. Vijay was also one of ten invitees from India, who attended the Kairos Global Conference that hosted the top 50 global startups at the New York Stock Exchange. He was also awarded the Law Without Walls fellowship in 2012, for young lawyers. The fellowship aims at creating a global network for young legal entrepreneurs to work with startups.
Ivan Thomas Shanti
Ivan Shanti is a Chartered Accountant by profession and heads the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice group at the Firm. He began his career with M/s Kalyaniwalla & Mistry, Mumbai and the Indian arm of French audit firm Mazars in 2011 in the audit and assurance team.During his timewith Kalyaniwalla & Mistry, Ivan was part of the teams engaged in the statutory audit of Godrej Consumer Products, Bombay Dyeing and other listed companies in construction, information technology and asset management industries. He was also involved in several due diligence assignments in relation to intellectual property rights, telecom infrastructure and fraud investigation. In 2015, he left Kalyaniwalla & Mistry to join Reelmonk.com, an online movieportal for regional cinema where he played a critical role is securing its first round of angel funding before the Company successfully pivoted to a B2B cash positive business model. Thereafter, he joined Veeksha in 2017 and handles the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice group of the Firm from its Cochin office.
